Asbestos Under Proposition 65 (Health and Safety Code 25249, et seq.), landlords of rentals constructed prior to 1981 are required to notify tenants of any known or possible asbestos hazard existing at the premises. If the building was built before 1981 it is presumed that asbestos is contained therein.
